Education

Mar 2023 – Feb 2027 (expected) Ph.D. in Mechanics (Computational Science) @EPFL,Lausanne, Switzerland

2017 – 2023 M.S. & B.S. in Mechanical Engineering @ Sapienza, Rome, Italy

2017 – 2022 Global Studies & Fundamentals of Business@University College Lamaro Pozzani, Rome, Italy

Core Expertise

To address complex engineering and physical challenges, I employ different computational and mathematical approaches:

  • High-Performance Computing (HPC): I use large-scale simulations (LAMMPS, Tamaas, Jax) to explore fundamental physics in granular flows and contact mechanics.
  • Surrogate & ML Modeling: I integrate data-driven methodologies, such as Gaussian Process Regression (GPR), differentiable physics, and neural networks, to build efficient models.
  • Predictive Modeling of Complex Systems: I design mathematically grounded models (continuum field theories, discrete element methods) to predict emergent behavior in granular materials and contact mechanics, bridging theory and computation.

Professional Experience

2023 – 2027 Food processing:@Bühler AG collaboration to optimize industrial grain processing, Uzwil, Switzerland.

2022 Semiconductors:@ASML research within the Tribology and Surface Science group, Eindhoven, Netherlands.

2021 Research internships: @ INFN (National Institute of Nuclear Physics in Italy) and @EPFL Excellence in Engineering (E3)

Leadership & Outreach

2023 – 2026 LauzHack: I was part of the committee, helping grow one of Switzerland’s largest student hackathons.

2024 – 2027 Mechanics Gathering Seminar (MEGA): I am one of the lead organizers of this weekly seminar, which fosters a collaborative environment for early-career researchers.

Science Communication

In 2026, I was selected as a finalist for the EPFL MT 180 (3-Minute Thesis) competition. You can watch my presentation here:
